About Rural Students Learning Computer in Uganda
Founded in 2015 by Teacher Muzaale Richard, Rural Students Learning Computer in Uganda (RSLCU) is a community-based organization dedicated to empowering rural youth. Registered with the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT), RSLCU aims to bridge the gap between rural and urban communities.
Our Story
As a teacher and rural community resident, Richard understood the challenges faced by local students. Limited finances and lack of opportunities forced many to abandon their educational aspirations. Determined to make a difference, Richard launched RSLCU with a single laptop.
Our Objectives
1. Bridging the Technology Gap: RSLCU strives to close the technological divide between rural and urban students.
2. Empowering Rural Communities: We equip rural youth with employable skills, enhancing their socio-economic prospects.
3. Supporting Education: RSLCU provides educational support, including school fees and supplies, to underprivileged children, enabling them to compete in the job market.
Additional Initiatives
For teenage mothers who have dropped out of school, RSLCU offers training in tailoring and hairdressing. These skills empower them to support their young families and regain control of their lives.

Our Programs
At Rural students learning computer in Uganda, we believe in using the advanced technology as the foundation for sustainable poverty alleviation. By equipping individuals with the better employable skills, we empower them to embrace learning and growth. Through tailored programs ie. Information and Communication Technology, Tailoring and Hair dressing.
Computer Training
Bridging the digital divide for rural students requires comprehensive computer training. Programs should offer access to technology, basic computer skills (word processing, internet use), and digital literacy. This empowers students with essential skills for improved education, increased employability, and active participation in the digital world, fostering community development.
Tailoring
Integrating tailoring with computer training empowers rural students with valuable skills. Combining traditional tailoring with CAD software, online marketing, and inventory management creates entrepreneurial opportunities. This blended approach fosters income generation, meets local needs, and promotes community development by equipping students for successful futures.
Hair dressing
Combining hairdressing with computer skills empowers rural students. Using computers for appointment scheduling, online marketing (social media, websites), and inventory management enhances business skills. This blended approach allows students to modernize their hairdressing businesses, reach wider markets, and improve income generation within their communities.

Its better to train a person how to fish than giving him a fish; At RSLCU, we believe in training and empowering a person with employable skills that will enable him to sustain his own future. we are doing this through computer skills trainings, Hair dressing and Tairloring Classes.
